LEAVES' EYES/ATROCITY Guitarist Quits; Replacement Announced
January 4, 2010Guitarist Mathias Röderer has left ATROCITY and LEAVES' EYES (featuring ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY singer Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull and members of ATROCITY) for "family reasons." ATROCITY says in a statement, "Matze has been a part of ATROCITY from the beginning and did music with the band for more than 20 years. Both bands wish him the best for his future!"
Röderer's replacement in ATROCITY and LEAVES' EYES is Sander van der Meer (pictured below) from Dutch death metallers CYPHER.
LEAVES' EYES will support KAMELOT on their upcoming European tour in March/April 2010.
"My Destiny", the latest video from LEAVES' EYES, was directed by Patric Ullaeus (DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL) of Revolver Film Company in Gothenburg, Sweden.
LEAVES' EYES' new album, "Njord", was released in the U.S. on September 29 via Napalm Records.
ATROCITY will play a special 25th-anniversary show at this year's edition of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place August 5-7, 2010 in Wacken, Germany.
